The Fender serial number decoder currently supports all documented MIA, MIJ, MIM, MIK and MII formats with the exception of Custom Shop, Relic and Reissue instruments. There are many factors that can affect the value of your vintage guitar. Some of those include variables such as refinished bodies or necks, replaced parts, refrets, and overall condition of the guitar.Since several models can share one chassis type (for example, the early brown 5G7 Bandmaster, 5G5 Pro and 5G12 Concert), this kind of interpretation is inaccurate.Instead, there were approximately 2000 of these chasses produced, which then ended up as one of the three models in question.Original and mint condition will catch the highest values for your instruments. If the guitar has been altered, it can depreciate the value of the guitar tremendously. At least for Aria guitars, made by Matsumoku, the serial number contains the year of manufacture in the first 2 digits, thus a guitar from 1979 would have a serial number, such as 79####. Any information regarding this instrument would be appreciated. Rumor has it, although I can't find confirmation, that the Indonesian factory was thought to be to be an Indonesian "slave" factory).
